Once again it’s on! This Saturday, June 28th, make your way out to the third installment of Seattle’s only hip hop festival, Dope Emporium. Located in the heart of Georgetown during the annual Artopia festival, this event is a must attend for anyone even remotely interested in hip hop happenings in the 206.
Dope Emporium is the brainchild of Seattle O.G. rap veterans Silent Lambs project and 4BC Musick. This event is the place to be this Saturday from 2 P.M to 10.P.M. Live performances by local hip hop acts of all flavors rock the two stages as aerosol artists attack canvases. Hip hop will be represented properly in all aspects as b-boys and b-girls get down, turntablists do their thing, producers battle it out and heads display local style in the fashion show. Vendors will be present as well as a hip hop debate.
Artists performing include Alpha P/Knox Fam, APP featuring Knuckleheadbanga & Treal, Amp Fire, Anthony J. Shears, B-Girl Bench, Brotha Brown, Butler Boi, Candidt, Chelsey Richardson, Cyphallince, Dimmak, G Khan & DJ Pheloneous, Gloria Medina, Khingz, LaRue featuring Yirim Seck, Orbitron, Southern Comfort, Speedy, Stahi Brothas (Vitamin D & Maineack Tubman), T-Love, Waves of the Mind, Willie Will, Wojack, Xperience, and Young Soprano. D.J.’s spinning will be Luvva J, Mr. Hill, Sean Malik, and Topspin.
To Top it all off it’s free, this event is seriously not to be missed. Dope Emporium will be located at the Artopia Festival in Georgetown. Located on Airport Way S. between S. Homer St. and S. Nebraska St. Running all day from 2 P.M. to 10 P.M. Come celebrate local art and culture in it’s freshest form.
